Board & Train

Boutique, In-Home Training for Real Life

Hutter K9 Board & Train is an immersive, in-home training experience designed to help dogs live calmly, confidently, and neutrally in the real world — while helping owners learn how to lead them there.

This program is intentionally limited to one dog at a time and is not a quick fix. It’s an investment in foundation work that carries forward after your dog goes home.

Is Board & Train a Good Fit?

Board & Train is for owners seeking more than obedience — those who want a calmer, more neutral dog and structure that carries over at home.

This program is not a fit for quick fixes, command-only training, or group play and socialization. Owner participation is required.

At this time, Board & Train is not accepting dogs with active aggression or severe resource guarding.

  • The Reset Program focuses on helping dogs settle, decompress, and establish clear routines owners can confidently maintain.

The Foundation Program begins at six weeks and may extend up to ten weeks depending on the dog’s history, needs, and goals. This extended timeline allows for deeper foundation work, stronger generalization, and more reliable real-world results.

Program length recommendations are made during intake and reassessed as training progresses.

  • All training involves tools used as a means of clear, fair communication.

When appropriate, e-collars are introduced thoughtfully and ethically. Hutter K9 exclusively uses Martin System e-collars and offers e-collar conditioning and off-leash training only within the Foundation Program to ensure proper conditioning.

    • Dogs must be 6 months or older

    • Board & Train is limited to one dog at a time

    • Proof of up-to-date core vaccinations is required

    • A negative fecal panel within the last 30 days, including Giardia testing

    • Behavioral dogs may require extended timelines

    • Owner participation is required for long-term success

  • All Board & Train programs require full payment at the time of booking.

Due to the limited, one-dog-at-a-time structure, deposits are non-refundable. Rescheduling and cancellation policies are outlined in detail after application and prior to scheduling.
