The Popeye Program
In honor of Popeye — the dog who started it all.
Popeye was the dog who changed everything for us.
When we adopted him, he was mostly blind, terrified of slippery floors, and had been written off as “unadoptable.” Everyone told us he’d never be able to live with other dogs and that he was “too much work.” None of that mattered to us.
We drove four hours to bring him home, promising him that he’d finally have a family who understood him. He taught us what resilience, trust, and unconditional love truly mean — and he is the reason HutterK9 exists today.
This program is our way of honoring him and helping more dogs like him succeed in their homes.
Who Qualifies
The Popeye Program offers reduced training rates for the following:
Pittie Project PNW Alumni Dogs
10% off all training programs
Dogs adopted through The Pittie Project PNW qualify for a 10% discount on training services.
First Responders & Military
5% off all training programs
As a thank you, we extend special rates to active-duty military, veterans, and first responders.
Foster Dogs & Recently Adopted Dogs
5% off all training programs
Dogs currently in foster care or recently adopted from a shelter or rescue qualify for discounted training services.
Proof of adoption or foster status is required.
Skagit Canine Club Clients
5% off all training programs
Clients of Skagit Canine Club qualify for a 5% discount. We value strong partnerships with facilities that prioritize structure, safety, and thoughtful care.
Why We Do This
We believe every dog deserves a fair shot at success — especially those who have been rescued, are adjusting to a new home, or need extra support during critical transitions.
Every day in rescue, we see how a lack of training and structure can lead to good dogs being returned to shelters — not because they’re “bad dogs,” but because they didn’t get the guidance they needed.
The Popeye Program exists to help prevent that outcome by giving dogs — and their humans — the tools, structure, and confidence to thrive together.

How to Enroll
All training at HutterK9 begins with a training questionnaire.
When you complete the questionnaire, you’ll see a question asking whether you qualify for the Popeye Program. Simply indicate your eligibility — no separate application is required.
Eligibility is confirmed during intake, and applicable discounts are applied when scheduling.
Discounts do not stack.
